Methods: It was used the bibliometric method. It was carried out the search for the thematic descriptors “cultural tourism” and “museum” in scientific articles corresponding to the period (2018-2022), available in the Scopus database. The Biblioshiny application and the VOSviewer software were used to process the information.

Results: They were found a total of 1,278 publications, which shows that the topic is of current interest. Timothy Jung is the author with the highest impact, China the most productive and cited country, Sustainability (Switzerland) the most productive journal and Tourism Management the most cited journal. They were identified two main thematic lines, the study of the cultural tourist and the use of new technologies to enrich the experience of tourists in museums.
