Sociedad Geográfica de Cuba. Medioambiente y sociedad en la primera mitad del siglo XX
Abstract
Se analizan el origen y la evolución de la Sociedad Geográfica de Cuba, institución científico-cultural que desplegó una ingente actividad en favor del conocimiento del ámbito geográfico nacional, y que durante sus 47 años de actividad enfocó algunos de los problemas ambientales presentes en el Archipiélago. Se examina la diligente labor de los promotores de la Entidad, sus esfuerzos por consolidar la y asegurar su continuidad en el tiempo. Se profundiza en sus interacciones con el contexto sociopolítico de la época, y se exponen los principales hechos que marcaron su quehacer a lo largo de tres períodos bien diferenciados. Esta investigación revela los entresijos de una institución casi olvidada en la historiografía de la ciencia cubana.Downloads
