Enfermedades de la pobreza, el caso del dengue
Abstract
Entre las llamadas enfermedades emergentes, reemergentes y olvidadas, sedestaca el dengue, arbovirosis producida por 4 virus y transmitida
principalmente por el mosquito Aedes aegypti. En este trabajo se resumen los
principales avances a escala mundial en dengue, se presenta la situación
epidemiológica cubana, y como el país ha enfrentado exitosamente este reto
en los últimos 40 años. Finalmente se resumen las principales investigaciones
y resultados obtenidos por investigadores cubanos de impacto nacional e
internacional.
