RANKING E ÍNDICE H DE LAS UNIVERSIDADES DE PAÍSES QUE INTEGRAN EL ALBA

Abstract

La Alianza Bolivariana para las Américas es un proyecto integracionista de varios países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe que tiene entre sus propósitos compensar las asimetrías entre esos países en pie de igualdad y el bien común. El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un primer acercamiento al panorama científico que ofrecen las universidades de este bloque integracionista y su impacto a nivel iberoamericano dado por el índice H y su posición en el ranking iberoamericano 2013. Se seleccionó a Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Antigua y Barbudas dentro de los países de este bloque integracionista y de ellos las universidades de mayor índice H de acuerdo a lo reportado por Scopus y su posición en el ranking. Se evalúa críticamente las variables que componen el ranking y la ubicación de cada universidad de los países seleccionados. La alta variabilidad del desarrollo e impacto alcanzado por las diferentes universidades permite apreciar un desarrollo ascendente pero no armónico entre los diferentes países analizados donde se combina la educación superior pública y privada con características peculiares de cada contexto en particular.
