LA NANOTECNOLOGÍA Y EL DESARROLLO: OPORTUNIDADES E INCERTIDUMBRES
Abstract
En la última década la nanociencia y la nanotecnología han irrumpido como áreaspunteras de investigación, conducentes a un cambio de paradigma en cuanto a
la fabricación y elaboración de bienes, en la industria en general, la medicina,
seguridad y defensa, producción y almacenamiento de energía, gestión
medioambiental, transporte, comunicaciones, electrónica y otros. Su expansión ha
estado condicionada así mismo, por s u carácter transversal y multidisciplinario,
que le permite converger con distintas áreas de investigación; principalmente
biotecnología, las tecnologías de información y comunicaciones y los materiales. Se
prevé tenga un fuerte impacto en la economía y la sociedad en las próximas
décadas, en los países avanzados y los de economías emergentes, que
profundizarán el gran abismo existente con el resto de las naciones.
