Abstract

Introduction: Heritage education is aimed at training people's behavior for the protection, conservation and sustainable use of heritage assets. To address the shortcomings identified in the incorporation of heritage education in the initial and permanent training of education professionals, different investigations have been developed, with results that are introduced into pedagogical practice. Given the diversity of solution proposals, the need arises to develop a theoretical-methodological conception for heritage education in the initial and permanent training of education professionals, which is the objective of this work.

Methods: It is used theoretical systematization as a methodological strategy, which is aided by documentary analysis methods; analytical-synthetic; inductive-deductive; and structural systemic.

Results: They are compiled different points of view and contributions regarding the incorporation of heritage education to the pedagogical process in the initial and permanent training of the education professional. On this basis, it is elaborated a theoretical-methodological conception, made up of a theoretical-conceptual component, which reveals essential aspects of its content, and a methodological-instrumental component, which establishes necessary considerations for its implementation in practice. Conclusions: The theoretical-methodological conception for heritage education in the initial and permanent training of the education professional contributes to solving problems related to the incorporation of heritage education to the pedagogical process of higher education, from the base link materialized in the plan of study of the careers, and in the preparation of the professionals of the Ministry of Education. It responds to a social mandate for education, especially in certain localities and regions with a rich natural and/or cultural heritage, which must be protected, conserved and/or used in a sustainable manner, in compliance with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
