Introduction: The current psychology degree curriculum is designed by competencies. The greatest challenge is the evaluation of the quality of said training, with the final purpose of designing strategies for its improvement. The distance education conditions imposed by the pandemic added new challenges.
Objective: To evaluate the quality of training by competencies from the level of reaction (students) and learning (teachers) in the course Work Psychology in Organizations taught in distance mode.
Methods: The mixed methodology combined surveys, interviews and documentary analysis. The samples were 58 students of 3rd year and four teachers of the subject.
Results: The influence of the course in the development of professional competencies is perceived by students and teachers as moderately favorable. According to both groups, the professional competence that was most developed was Prevention-Promotion of well-being and guidance and counseling (according to the teachers). The professional competence that was least developed according to the students' perception was Diagnosis-Evaluation of socio-psychological phenomena and according to the teachers' criteria, Intervention and the training and coaching of others. The general analysis of the differences between students and teachers shows a better perception of the latter.
Conclusions: It is concluded that the curricular design of the subject forms professional competencies, despite the absence of work practices. The importance of these for the formation of skills is valued.
