INFECCIONES POR MYCOPLASMA GENITALIUM EN CUBA. NUEVOS GENOTIPOS Y EMERGENCIA DE LA RESISTENCIA ANTIMICROBIANA
Abstract
Antecedentes: A partir de 2015, la OMS considera a Mycoplasma genitalium como un patógeno de trasmisión sexual emergente de importancia creciente. La emergencia de cepas multidrogorresistentes a todos los esquemas terapéuticos disponibles a nivel mundial, han conllevado que las infecciones por M. genitalium sean consideradas la primera ITS bacteriana no tratable. Objetivos: En el presente trabajo se recogen los resultados de investigaciones en Cuba sobre las infecciones por Mycoplasma genitalium, con el propósito de aportar evidencias científicas sobre la presencia de este patógeno emergente en pacientes cubanos con síndromes urogenitales (ITS), específicamente sobre la diversidad genética y la emergencia de cepas multirresistentes a los tratamientos de elección.Downloads
