Publications of the Academy of Sciences of Havana show the participation of its members in the study and control of the flu of 1918. In volume 55 (1918-1919) of the Annals of the Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of Havana , the impact of the pandemic in Cuba is shown, as well as the participation of the Academy in tackling the sanitary situation created by the flu. The members of the Academy of Havana participated in investigations, procedures and instructions about how the flu of 1918-1919 should be faced. The pandemic at that time presented characteristics similar to the current one caused by the Sars-Cov-2. This paper seeks to show the correspondence of the actions taken in that period by the Academy with those that are carried out at present to fend off COVID-19.Downloads
