Relevance of the development of the psychology of testimony in Cuba

A frequent demand of the judicial system to Psychology is the evaluation of the credibility of the testimony in cases of Child Sexual Abuse. The objective of this work is to review current publications in national journals that allows us to analyze the methodology used in Cuba in this expert activity, seeking to establish points of contact with foreign literature. The bibliographic review is used as a method of obtaining information, using as selection criteria the approach to child sexual abuse and the evaluation of the credibility of the testimony. It was detected little development of forensic psychology in Cuba and we examined some causes of this phenomenon. As a result it is proposed an action protocol, identified in the holistic model for the evaluation of witness evidence, which is considered capable of adaptation to the national context. It is concluded that there are encounters between the national practice and the international reference, as well as a huge need for disciplinary legitimation and scientific production on the subject.Downloads
