Jose Martí's critical reception of some representative authors of XIX century political science

This article analyzes the state of political science at the end of the 19th century that is evident in Jose Marti's thought. It focuses on Martí´s reception of the ideas of some jurisconsults, politicians, historians, philosophers, from Europe, the United States and Latin America, such as: Calixto Bernal, Pasquale S. Mancini, Ernest Renan, Augusto Comte, Wendell Phillips, Peter Cooper, Luis Varela, and Simón Bolívar; it also values Marti´s critique on political practice in Latin America and the United States. Jose Marti is considered a founder of political science of south because he contributes to the formation of codes, categories and terms referring to political behavior.Downloads
